ZHUJI, China, March 31 (Xinhua) -- With Askia Booker's impeccable performance in overtime, the Shenzhen Aviators beat the Sichuan Blue Whales 114-106 to snap a two-game skid in the 2020-21 regular season of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Wednesday.
As Marcus Hunt from Sichuan made a floating jump shot to widen the gap to six points with 40 seconds left, it seemed unlikely for Shenzhen to overturn the game.
However, Booker stood out to erase the deficit via two desperate 3-pointers in clutch time. After Hunt's 3-pointer attempt to close the game in the final seconds ended with an airball, the game was level at 98-98 and forced into overtime.
Booker continued his hot hand in overtime and scored six consecutive points through aggressive attacks in the paint, helping Shenzhen secure the victory.

The rivals played tit for tat in the first three quarters. Shenzhen built an eight-point lead in the first quarter, but then lost their rhythm beyond the arc, shooting only three of 21 before Booker's final two magical threes in regular time.
Booker had a team-high 36 points, while his teammate Shen Zijie contributed a double-double of 29 points and 13 rebounds.
Hunt notched a game-high 49 points on 36 shooting attempts, while Hamed Haddadi added 17 points and 11 rebounds.
In the other game played on Wednesday, the Zhejiang Lions eased past the Shanxi Loongs 96-74, with four players scoring in double-digits.
