On January 5, there were no new confirmed local cases in Chengdu, and 2 new imported cases (both of which were revised from the asymptomatic cases reported yesterday).There was no new asymptomatic domestic infection, one asymptomatic infection from abroad was newly reported, and the other asymptomatic infection from abroad was released from centralized quarantine for medical observation.

As of 24:00 On January 5, a total of 925 confirmed cases had been reported in Chengdu, including 734 imported from abroad. A total of 888 confirmed cases had been discharged from hospital, including three deaths. The remaining 34 cases were being treated in isolation in designated hospitals.Twenty-three asymptomatic infected patients in the city are under centralized quarantine and medical observation.

Two New Imported Cases Were Reported

Confirmed case 1: Chinese national who took flight 3U3894 from Kazakhstan arrived in Chengdu on December 31, 2021, and was quarantined immediately after entry.On 4 January 2022, as a result of the COVID-19 nucleic acid test positive, she was diagnosed as an asymptomatic patient and transferred to a designated hospital for isolation and treatment.On January 5, the patient was revised to a confirmed case due to abnormal chest CT results.

Confirmed case 2: Chinese national who entered from Russia via Shanghai on December 17, 2021 and took flight CA4514 on December 31, 2021 after completing centralized quarantine in Shanghai, and arrive in Chengdu the next day for closed-loop transfer to centralized quarantine point for isolation and management.On 4 January 2022, as a result of the COVID-19 nucleic acid test positive, the person was diagnosed as an asymptomatic patient and transferred to a designated hospital for isolation and treatment.On January 5, the patient was revised to a confirmed case due to abnormal chest CT results.

Asymptomatic patient: Chinese nationals.Flight CA404 from Singapore arrived in Chengdu on December 22, 2021, and was quarantined immediately after entry.On 5 January 2022, as a result of the COVID-19 nucleic acid test positive, the person was diagnosed as an asymptomatic patient and transferred to a designated hospital for isolation and treatment.

The isolation site where the above-mentioned confirmed cases and asymptomatic patients’dwellings have been disinfected, and the people in close contact have been placed under quarantine and tested negative for nucleic acid.
